String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam

The String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam is the world’s biggest festival that profoundly celebrates string quartet. Every other year, for eight days, Amsterdam is the worldwide focal point for string quartet, challenging the very existence of the established order, pushing the traditional boundaries of the form. With over 50 events and more than 25 string quartets, composers and speakers from all over the world participating, the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam sets out to highlight all different aspects of the string quartet genre, both the traditional canon and new, unexplored territories.
